Youth Wrestling Program
The Portland Youth Wrestling program provides opportunities for kids to learn the sport of wrestling, participate in competitions and learn important lessons that will serve them throughout their lives. Our progam includes a competitive team for children in grades k-5, an invitational wrestling tournament and a summer wrestling camp.

Tell me more. My little guy, Griffin is naturally strong and aggressive. He starts all day kindergarten in the fall.He needs a healthy outlet.
Hi there. My son is an 85-lb, 4′-9″ 8th grader curious about whether wresting could be the right sport for him. Would you encourage him to try it out and if so, is there a league or team he could begin training with in the Portland vicinity this fall? (we live in SW Portland not too far from Jackson Middle School)
Thanks in advance for your advice and your help!
Leslie
One of the great aspects of wresting is the use of weight classes. It allows kids of all sizes to compete with others on a safer, more equal playing field. Wrestling also demands a level of commitment, focus and discipline that’s unlike many other sports. Kids that embrace that can find success in wrestling and in life. However, wrestling isn’t for everyone. I’d recommend finding a team and letting him try it for a season. You’ll know if it’s not working out. By the way, we are in Portland, ME. I think you are looking for a team in Portland, OR?
I have a third grader interested in wrestling. What kinds of programs do you currently run?
We are just starting our youth wrestling season. Just download the flier or registration form for all the details. We practice Tuesday and Friday evenings from 6-7:30 at Portland High School.
We are wondering if there will be a wrestling summer day camp for 2012, if so, can you let us know which week and the cost.
Thanks,
Heather
We have not made plans yet for the summer camp.
